In order to work out the scores for this particular module, we decided to start by assigning points to the website:
Page Title
missing = 0 point
short or long = 5 points
good = 10 points
Page Description
missing = 0 point
short or long = 5 points
good = 10 points
Duplicate Metadata:
yes = 0 point
no = 10 points
Text Count:
0 = 0 point
1 - 249 (words) = 5 points
250 or higher = 10 points
Links in
0 = 0 point
1 - 99 = 5 points
100+ = 10 points
Links out
0 = 0 point
1 - 14 = 5 points
15+ = 10 points
A page can have a total of 60 points if all the above criteria is met
Once the points have been attributed we give each section a WEIGHT (multiplying its value by the ones below):
page title = x1
page desc = x1
duplicated = x6
text count = x1
links in = x1
links out = x1
Noticeably only the "duplicate content" gets a significant multiplier. This is because duplicate content is far more important than any of the other metrics.
The scores of each and every URL are added up to give the "component" a total score as a percentage. ([total points / maximum points] X 100 = %)
The final percentage will equals one of the following 3 colors given the bracket they fall into:
- Red = 30% or lower
- Yellow = 31% to 79%
- Green = 80% or higher
